Speaker Bio

Abby Jimenez is the author of six popular romance novels, several of which have landed her on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists. In 2022, she won the Minnesota Book Award for her novel, Life’s Too Short. Her book, The Friend Zone, made Oprah Magazine’s list of most addicting romance novels, and her book, The Happy Ever After Playlist, is being developed into a moviePublisher’s Weekly called her 2023 novel Yours Truly, “sparkling prose… contemporary romance gold,” and her next book, Just for the Summer, comes out in April 2024.

Before becoming a writer, Jimenez founded Nadia Cakes, an award-winning cupcake shop and custom cake studio, out of her home kitchen. She went on to win Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and was featured on two seasons of TLC’s hit show Fabulous Cakes.

Her runaway bestselling romance novels are known for their captivating dialogue and trademark humor while tackling tough life topics. Jimenez is a popular speaker at libraries, festivals, and associations, and has spoken at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
