Regina Brett

Author, Cancer Survivor, Award-Winning Journalist

Regina Brett is the voice readers and audiences turn to when they want inspiration for life.

She is a New York Times bestselling author whose popular book God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life’s Little Detours has been published in 26 countries. Her presentations at hospitals, seminars, colleges, churches, commencements, conferences, fundraisers, and annual meetings inspire audiences to take the next right step, create the life of their dreams, make peace with the past, say yes to life and be the miracle they want to see in the world.

As a two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Commentary, Brett has gained the attention and hearts of readers throughout the country. As a columnist for The Cleveland Plain Dealer – Ohio’s largest newspaper and the 16th largest newspaper in the country – her columns are posted on refrigerators, tucked into wallets, quoted from pulpits, clipped, tweeted, snail-mailed and emailed around the world. She also writes a column for the Cleveland Jewish News. She has also been a guest on Oprah & Friends Radio.

Brett’s most popular column, "50 Life Lessons," is about faith and family, about the lessons cancer taught her and the ones she learned growing up in a family of 11 children and as a single parent for 18 years. That column became a viral Internet sensation, attracting international attention and leading to the publication of God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life’s Little Detours in countries all over the world, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Russia, Sweden, Brazil, Poland, Portugal, Indonesia and the United Kingdom.

Her second book, Be The Miracle: 50 Lessons for Making the Impossible Possible, is a collection of inspirational essays in which she shares lessons that will help people make a difference in the world around them. Her newest book, God Is Always Hiring: 50 Lessons for Finding Fulfilling Work is an inspiring collection in which Brett considers how we relate to our work, or lack of work, and the seeking of something deeper and more meaningful in our career and life. With essays like "Every job is as magical as you make it" and "Only you can determine your worth," this book relates tales of discouragement turning into hope, and persistence paying big dividends. People with challenges in their jobs or job search will find solace and advice.

An in-demand speaker, Brett has given keynote talks at medical facilities, universities, libraries, retreats, churches, prayer breakfasts and conferences for human resource employees, journalists, nurses and social workers. An accomplished extemporaneous speaker, companies also ask her to speak at volunteer/employee recognition events, annual meetings and staff retreats where she always tailors her talks to specific audiences.

Brett has an M.A. in Religious Studies from John Carroll University and a journalism degree from Kent State University.
