In 1999, Sachs founded Free Range Studios, an advertising agency that created the world’s first viral online activism videos including The Meatrix and Story of Stuff, both of which were viewed more then 20 million times before YouTube was even invented.

Sachs is the author of the bestselling book Winning the Story Wars, a look at how the best brands use storytelling to drive business and contribute to a better world. He’s led major engagements with leading socially responsible companies and organizations like Patagonia, Microsoft, Asana, Greenpeace and the ACLU. Honored with multiple Webby awards and Best Ofs at the South by Southwest Digital Festival, Sachs was named by Fast Company as one of 50 creative people changing the world.

He currently lives in Oakland CA where he writes for Fast Company and teaches workshops on storytelling and creativity. His second book, Unsafe Thinking will be published in April 2018.
