Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan

Writers & Creators of the Go Fug Yourself Blog

Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan are the co-creators of Go Fug Yourself, a celebrity-fashion watchdog blog (as The New Yorker once called it) focused on chronicling Hollywood’s good, bad, and fugly. Drawing more than three million unique visitors a month, the blog was named one of Entertainment Weekly’s 25 favorite sites on the Web just two years after its launch, as well as recently landing on EW’s coveted “Must List,” and has been praised in the Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, Vanity Fair, and the Chicago Tribune, among others. Cocks and Morgan also report from the trenches of Fashion Week twice a year for New York magazine’s Web site, where their dispatches are regularly among the most-read.

In their debut YA novel, Spoiled, Cocks and Morgan tell the story of Molly Dix, a 16-year old Midwesterner reeling from her mother’s deathbed confession that Molly’s long-buried father is, in fact, the very-much-alive Brick Berlin – who also just happens to be the world’s most famous movie star. In search of a fresh start, Molly moves to Los Angeles to live with her dad… and her half-sister, the glamorous and bratty Brooke Berlin, who couldn’t be less excited to share their father’s already-fractured attention span. Set against a world of Red Bull-fuelled stylists, tiny tanned girls, popped-collar guys, and BlackBerry-wielding publicists, Spoiled is a sparkling debut about sisterhood, family, and what happens when your Dad makes you share a room with your arch-enemy.

In their presentations, Cocks and Morgan share their personal stories as young writers and entrepreneurs who stormed into the blogosphere in 2004. They recount the highs and lows of their early careers, from post-college jobs to working on a variety of reality television shows, to launching GoFugYourself.com and spinning it into freelance careers and fiction writing, and engross and encourage audiences with their journey into the blogging elite.

Cocks is a die-hard sports fan; a dual citizen of the U.S. and U.K.; a Leo; an ex-journalist; a proud Notre Dame grad; a nomad who was born in Houston, grew up in England, moved to Miami, then finished high school in Calgary, Canada; possibly the reincarnated soul of Elvis Presley, who died the exact day she was born; a sandwich advocate; and a former producer of several seasons of America’s Next Top Model.

Morgan is a Southern California native and UCLA alumna who has produced reality shows ranging from Growing Up Gotti to the documentary-series 30 Days and who was once told by a former boss that her emails were “too well written.” She collects shoes, books, and unpaid parking tickets.

Cocks and Morgan are available to speak alone or together. They reside in Los Angeles.
